Zu Zu Cookie Tin Design Prototypes

Here is a collection of four prototype designs for the cookie tin shown below produced in 1982. I do not know if this is a faithful reproduction of an original tin nor do I know from what year these prototypes are from (original or reproduction).

As a recovering graphic designer it’s interesting to see the backstage area of the design process. I think, all in all, they made the right decision. Yellow is definitely the Zu Zu color.

Update: See Charlie Brown’s comment (click link at bottom of post) for additional info on these tins.

  1. All these proto designs, most of which are extremely colorful, date 1980-81, before the final design was chosen. The ZuZu tin is a takeoff of an early 1900′s ZuZu container. Good Job, Rick!

  2. Ever so cool. Woul love a ZuZu tin. Found one in the Zou Zou’s Deli in Chelsea, Mi. Not for sale, of course.
